Ours is a long story that begins with a long journey: that of young
Giovanni Berteotti who, like many other people from Trentino, moved to Germany in 1965 in search of training and work. He found both in a Ford factory, specifically in the tooling department, where he was fascinated by the creativity and precision required to design and manufacture cold forming dies for sheet metal.
Two years later, he returned to Trentino with clear ideas and a new passion. He continued his career in the mechanical engineering sector and,
in 1974, took the opportunity to take over a small machining company, thus starting his entrepreneurial adventure.
1980s and 1990s: evolution and innovation
During the 1980s, Giovanni's aptitude for
experimentation and innovation propelled us to a rapid and decisive corporate evolution, which led us to the business of manufacturing sheet metal cold forming tools.
In those years, we were one of the first companies in Trentino to implement technologies that were still uncommon at the time. In 1986, we purchased one of the few
CNC machining centres in Italy; two years later it was the turn of an
EDM cutting machine.
In the early 1990s we also advanced in the field of information technology. On the one hand, the
machining centres were connected via LAN to the technical department to exponentially speed up the transfer of information. On the other, we introduced
the innovative and still fundamental 3D design method.
Rapid and decisive business development that had to be supported by an equal growth in infrastructure: in 1988 we moved from the small workshop in the centre of town to a
large warehouse in the then-burgeoning industrial area of Lavis.
We have never moved since, investing heavily in the industrial area and in our site through various improvements that have
multiplied its
surface area and increased its sustainability.
New millennium: generational transition and internalisation
At the beginning of the new millennium, there was a generational transition from Giovanni to his three sons,
Claudio, Ivano, and Michele Berteotti.
During these years, the purchase of the
first mechanical die testing press also pushed us beyond regional and national borders.
This investment lets us carry out
all conformity and function tests in-house, guaranteeing the customer
the delivery of fully tested and, therefore, fully finished dies.
As a result, we were able to confidently pitch our company even to
geographically distant customers, obtaining excellent feedback, and we evolved further, specialising in the
production of metal components for the automotive industry.
Since 2001, our quality management system has been certified according to ISO 9001, and is regularly updated in accordance with subsequent revisions.
Today means tomorrow
We face the present as we faced the past, namely by constantly looking to the future.
The original aptitude for experimentation and innovation continues to drive us towards
constant evolution and improvement.
Every day we strive to improve our work method, which is geared towards
satisfying the specific needs of each customer and establishing strong, lasting partnerships.
We believe that the best way to do this is to guarantee
high quality and precision, on-time delivery, customisation according to supply specifications, and a complete service from design to die testing and ultimately the moulding of metal components.
